Site Copyright Policy

To me each work is different, and requires different permissions. I generally belive that sharing is a good idea. But there are times when there can be too much sharing. For this reason, I use the Creative Commons set of licenses on my works whenever possible. Some parts of my site, I don't believe will do the community any good outside of my site, such as navigation pages, so these works aren't licensed at all.

Creative Commons Licensed Works

Pages which are licensed under a Creative Commons license are clearly marked at the bottom, with a copyright and a notification that the work is available under a particular Creative Commons license. A graphic is also placed in the navigation bar at the right (or in some browsers, top) of the page. The graphic is a link to the page on the creative commons web site. These pages, when printed with a browser compliant with the CSS Layer 2 specification, will have the copyright Notice, license notice, and a URI at the end of the document. The URI is the address for a page on the Creative Commons website with information on the terms of the license.

No License

Some pages are not licensed at all. Your may use the content of these pages only in ways that are considered fair use. Pages which do not bear notifications of a license or graphics for creative commons licenses are not licenced. Generally, the only pages that aren't licenced are those that I don't believe require licensing.

The Navigation Bar

The navigation bar is not considered part of the "Work". When dealing with modification or reproduction. You may remove it from copies you make of content from this site. (It's automatically removed for you if you print using a web browser that supports CSS layer 2.) I may include material in the navigation bar for which I don't own the rights. In that case, you must obtain permission from the copyright holder to use that material.

Special Permission

If one of my works is licensed under a NonCommercial license, and you wish to use it commercially, please contact me, and I'll be happy to consider granting an exception. There may be additional, or different terms involved with commercial use, however. If one of my works is licensed under the terms CreativeCommons Attribution-ShareAlike license, and you would like to use it under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license (for example, to combine it with another work under the NonCommercial license), I'd be happy to consider granting an exception.
